Tymoshenko sold Stroytransgaz Engineering to Photon Express and Eneriya Antaresa in an attempt to evade sanctions targeting supporters of the Syrian regime. Stroytransgaz Engineering signed a contract with the General Organization for Chemical Industries in Syria to operate and invest in fertilizer plants affiliated with the General Fertilizer Company in Homs, and with the General Directorate of Ports in Syria to operate and invest the port of Tartous for a period of 49 years, and with the General Petroleum Corporation to invest in Al-Thawra field for 15 years, and with the Ministry of Tourism to rehabilitate the tourist village of Al-Manara in Tartous Governorate at a cost of $90 million.
