Terms of use
Political and Economic Networks Observatory (Syrian Program)

Introduction

The Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the products of the Observatory for Political and Economic Networks (Syrian Program) and its related services; even if You logged in with an account provided by a person or entity with whom we have entered into a cooperation agreement, the Terms of Use apply to all Users of the services.

If You access and use our products and services, You agree to be committed to the Terms of Use. If You no longer accept the Terms of Use, or any future modification of the Terms of Use, You must stop using our services. Your continued use of our services indicates your continued acceptance of the Terms of Use.

Registration

Our services are not intended for use by anyone under 18 years. You endorse that You are over 18 years, and that You are the intended recipient of the customer's invitation to the services. You may not access or use the services for any purposes if any of the endorsements in the preceding sentence are incorrect.

When using our services, You may be asked to create an account with us. You agree that You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the passwords or other account IDs You choose, and for all activities that occur under your account.

By registering to use our services, You agree to the following:

  1. Your account and password are yours and may not be used by anyone else.
  2. You will not do anything that helps anyone who is not a Registered User to access the services.
  3. You will not create registration accounts for the purpose of misusing our services, our support community, or other Users, and You will not seek to distinguish yourself as another User.

You agree to notify us immediately if You become aware of any unauthorized use of your password or account IDs by others.


General Rules

We trust our Users, and are glad that You use our services. However, We must mention some precautionary rules. Please do not:

  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompose, hack, disable, interfere with, disassemble, modify, copy, or translate our services or disable the features, functionality, integration, or performance of our services (including any mechanism used to limit or control the functionality of our services), any third party's use of our services, or any third-party data contained therein
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our services, systems, or related networks, or to hack, avoid, bypass, remove, deactivate, or circumvent any software protection or monitoring mechanisms of our services
  • Use our services in any way that may harm minors, or interact with or target persons under the age of thirteen
  • Engage in any activity that incites or encourages violence or hatred against individuals or groups
  • Impersonate any person or entityincluding, without limitation, an employee of oursor falsify or misrepresent your affiliation with a person, organization, or entity
  • Access, search, or create accounts for our services by any means other than our generally supported interfaces (for example, "data pull" or creating bulk accounts)
  • Send unsolicited communications, promotions, advertisements, or spam
  • Place any advertisements within our services
  • Submit altered, deceptive, or false attribution information, including “spoofing” or “phishing”
  • Misuse referrals or promotions to obtain more credit than they are worth
  • Sublicense, resell, share time, or exploit our services
  • Use contact information or other User Information obtained from our services (including email addresses) to contact other users outside our services without their express permission or authorization, or to create or distribute mailing lists or other sets of contact information or a user profile for Users to use outside our services
  • Authorize, permit, enable, induce, or encourage any third party to do any of the above


Trademarks, copyrights, and other proprietary rights

Our brand names, logos, products, and services are our trademarks. Except as permitted by law, please do not use or display our trademarks in any way without our prior consent.

All title and intellectual property rights in our services and all copies thereof are owned by us. All rights are reserved, except as otherwise expressly provided, including the main subscription agreement with the beneficiary.

It is prohibited to reproduce any part of our services or content in any form or by any means, except as expressly permitted by the Terms of Use. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue our services (or any part of their content) at any time, with or without notice to You, if You do not respect the obligations of this section, and We will not be liable to You or any third party if We exercise such rights.

Access Termination

If, for any reason, We suspect that You have not complied with the Terms of Use, We may at our sole discretion terminate your access to our services immediately and without prior notice. We may terminate your Registered Account at our sole discretion by sending You an email to the address You have registered, indicating that the agreement has been terminated.

Changes to the Terms of Use

Please note that We may change the Terms of Use from time to time at our sole discretion, and We reserve the right to do so without your express consent. We will do our best to notify all of our Users when fundamental changes are made.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, and both parties (We and You) agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Ontario, Canada.

Waiver

Any failure or delay by either the User or the Observatory for Political and Economic Networks (Syrian Program) to exercise any right under the Terms of Use shall not be considered a waiver of such right. No waiver under the Terms of Use will be effective unless made in writing and signed by an authorized representative of the party deemed to have granted the waiver.

Attribution or Assignment

You may not assign any of your rights or delegate your obligations under the Terms of Use, whether at law or otherwise, without our prior written consent.

We may assign the Terms of Use in their entirety, without your consent, to an affiliate company or in the event of a merger, acquisition, or reorganization of the company or the sale of part or all of the assets.
